Diary, November 7, 1865 - July 13, 1866. The diary contains brief descriptions of travel in Italy, Paris, and London, the voyage to New York on the Australasian, and, from December 29th, social life in New York City, Staten Island, and West Point. In Europe, she describes her baptism, some sightseeing, a visit to the Hotel des enfants-trouveĢs in Paris, shopping, and social life; in America, she descibes meetings with Ulysses S. Grant and Jennie Jerome (later Lady Randolph Churchill). She also describes social life with family and friends, including Alfred Pleasanton.
